Why this privilege

A century of craft, and a debt we can never repay.

Since 1924, Sri Jagdamba Pearls has helped families in Hyderabad and across India mark the moments that matter: a wedding, a homecoming, an anniversary kept across postings and time zones.

Many of those families wear the uniform. Officers, jawans, veterans, their spouses and parents have walked into our stores for generations, often between postings, sometimes just before one. The Defence privilege at our counters has always been our way of saying thank you.

Not every family lives near a store. Postings take you to border towns, island stations and cantonments far from Hyderabad. So we've brought the same privilege online, with a simple and private way to verify, so the thank-you reaches you wherever you are.

The privilege is for serving and retired personnel of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, and their families. Family members can show their own dependent card or the serving / retired member's card. Any one of these is enough:

Good to know

Is my ID card safe with you?

Yes. Your photo is checked once, automatically, to confirm it is a valid defence card, and is then discarded. It is never saved to our servers. We keep only the result: the type of card, the name as printed, the last four characters of the card number, and whether it was accepted.

I've shopped with you before as a defence customer. Do I still need my card?

No. If your mobile number is in our store records as a defence customer, you only confirm your number on WhatsApp and tell us your service. Your code appears straight away, with no card photo needed. Please use the same number you give at our stores.

What does the privilege cover?

The privilege applies to our pearl and gemstone jewellery on jpearls.com. Categories, limits and validity are shown in the offer terms below and are applied automatically at checkout.

I already get the Defence privilege in your store. Is this the same?

It's the same thank-you, now online. In store, keep showing your card at the counter as you always have. Online, verify once here and use your code at checkout on jpearls.com.

What if my card isn't accepted automatically?

Sometimes a photo is unclear, or a card type is less common. You'll be taken straight to our WhatsApp team, who will help you personally, usually within minutes during store hours.

Can my family use the privilege too?

Yes. Each family member can claim from their own mobile number, using their own dependent card or the serving / retired member's card. Just choose "Family of serving" or "Family of retired" and tell us your relationship.

Can I use my code more than once?

Yes, just as you would in our stores, within the limits shown at checkout. The code is linked to your mobile number, so please don't share it outside your family; each family member can claim their own.

Offer terms & conditions
  1. The Defence privilege (“the Offer”) is offered by Sri Jagdamba Pearls (“we”, “us”) on purchases made at www.jpearls.com.
  2. Eligibility: serving and retired personnel of the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force, and members of their families aged 18 or above, where the member or the family holds one of the documents listed on this page. You must be 18 or older to take part.
  3. Verification: eligibility is confirmed either from our own store records, where your mobile number is already recorded with us as a defence customer, or by an automated check of a photo of your card. We may ask for further confirmation on WhatsApp where a card cannot be confirmed automatically. We may decline any claim we cannot reasonably verify.
  4. Your code: the code is linked to the mobile number used to claim it and is non-transferable. Family members may each claim with the same card from their own mobile number. The code may be used on repeat purchases, within the limits applied at checkout.
  5. What it covers: the discount set out on this page, on eligible pearl and gemstone jewellery at jpearls.com only. Gold, diamond, silver articles, coins, gift cards and items already on sale may be excluded; eligible items are identified at checkout.
  6. Validity: the code is valid for the period and number of uses shown at checkout. The Offer cannot be combined with other coupon codes unless we say so, and has no cash value.
  7. Returns: if an order placed with the code is returned or cancelled, the refund is for the amount actually paid. The code is not reissued automatically.
  8. Misuse: we may cancel orders or withdraw codes obtained with false, borrowed or altered documents, or shared codes.
  9. Changes: we may change or withdraw the Offer at any time. Codes already issued remain valid until their stated expiry unless misused.
  10. The Offer is our own initiative and is not endorsed by, or affiliated with, the Ministry of Defence or any branch of the Armed Forces.
  11. These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have jurisdiction.

Who we are. Sri Jagdamba Pearls is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data collected on this page.

What we collect and why.

  • Name and mobile number: to send your one-time code, deliver your privilege code on WhatsApp, and remind you if it is not used.
  • Service details (service, serving/retired/family, and optionally rank, unit and station): to confirm eligibility and to keep your customer record, so we can recognise you and tailor offers. Kept until you ask us to delete them.
  • Your purchase history with us: checked to see if you are already a defence customer, so that you don't need to share a card.
  • Photo of your card (only if we can't find you in our records): used once, only to confirm eligibility, by an automated AI check. The photo is held in memory for a few seconds and is not stored.
  • Verification result: card type, name as printed, last four characters of the card number, and the outcome. Kept as a record of how your eligibility was confirmed and to help prevent misuse.
  • Campaign details (e.g. which ad brought you here): to understand which of our ads work.

Processors. The AI check is performed by our AI service provider (Anthropic), and WhatsApp messages are sent through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. Both act on our instructions and may process data outside India.

How long we keep it. Unfinished attempts are deleted after 90 days. Card verification details are cleared 12 months after verification. Your name and number remain with us as a customer record if you choose to buy from us.

Your rights. You may ask to access, correct or erase your data, withdraw your consent at any time (withdrawing does not affect processing already done), or nominate someone to act for you. Reply STOP on WhatsApp to stop messages.
